Mid-Georgia Industrial Sales, Inc. is a family owned and operated industrial and mill supply distributor. The company was founded in 1982 by William G. Adams and his son Wade Adams. William Adams had recently sold the family business, Taylor Iron Works & Supply Co., which had been in the Adams family since 1896. Taylor Iron Works had many divisions, one of them being Mill Supplies. After it was sold in 1979, William Adams retired while Wade remained with the new owners. After 3 years, it was clear that it was time for a change. Mid-Georgia Industrial Sales opened for business in April of 1982 in a rented 600 square foot building on Second Street. Wade, one employee, one truck, and $20,000 in start-up inventory began the journey. Within five years, our company had outgrown the facilities, and purchased a 5,000 square foot building on Oak Street. In January 1997, a new 10,000 square foot addition was completed. A few years later, a remodeling of the office and showroom area was completed. Now, approximately 20 people, over 10,000 items in inventory, 3 delivery trucks, and a state of the art Prophet 21 computer system, the growing tradition continues.
